I wish I could say this was the only session I've shot since my last post and that life has been so lax and enjoyable. Not the case at all. It's been challenging to balance full time stay-at-home mama and part time photographer. My sweet little baby Lucius has tremendous separation anxiety so he will only stay with my husband while I work. So it seems that mama and papa have two full time jobs these days. Sometime I'll get to posting all of the beautiful babes and families I've photographed this year. Until then, enjoy these precious folks :)

Spring finally! I'm sorry I've neglected this blog, but I've been so busy with sessions and family fun. I'll be sure to post some pictures from my recent sessions, but for now...here's Finn on Easter Sunday. Robin's egg blue shirt from Children's Place, hounds tooth pants made by me, funky tie made by me, hat by knuckleheads, and shoes by See Kai Run. They took less than an hour to make! I found the fabric for the pants at my local thrift shop for $1.99. The fabric was previously a pair of women's trousers. We love to recycle anything and everything. I hope you recycle something today too!

He's on the mend, AGAIN! This time he's got a little limp going on. Keeping an eye on him until Friday, then we'll decide if we need to investigate this little limp further.

We've all checked out of cyberspace for a while...and it's been refreshing to say the least. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing out on magical moments to be had when I'm truckin' away on this computer. It's perplexing how I can feel so in touch with a friend across the world, but so out of touch with my own family. This is where hours on the web and editing photos leaves me. In a fog. I'm ready to burst with creative energy for my business, but I know that this burst would mean less time and less magic with my two boys. How do all of you creative mama's do it??? love, cuddle, play, nurture, teach, create, cook, clean, work. HOW? please tell me your secret.

This was my first time photographing inside an urban building...and man have I been missing out! My heart lies in the country and the calm serene backdrop it provides, but the character and history in the building I shot this session in was mind-blowing! BIG THANK YOU to my friend Jeff Swensen. Check out his work here . He's an AMAZING photojournalist that travels worldwide capturing the raw truth of the world and its inhabits. I shot in his studio and made a new friend Alex Jones while there. Another true talent and artist of many mediums. If you're a photog and are in need of an AWESOME studio or lighting set-up, then Alex is your man. I leave the big question mark in the title as I have MANY resolutions for this spectacular year ahead, and they are much more important than this one. Although, if you were to look in on my life right now, you would think that learning to knit was #1. I'm determined to learn all I can about knitting. I'm obsessed! Just as I feel the desire to learn to make some of the simplest things in life like bread, soap, lip gloss, deodorant, the list goes on. I feel the desire to learn all I can about knitting. There's something about making and creating simple objects that we use or consume every day. I must say it's humbling and very rewarding.

Well, this is my first knitting project. Not sure what it is or what it's going to be, but I'm just so pleased that I've learned the basics so far and thought I would share with you. Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you're all eager to learn something new this year. Whether it be a new craft, a new recipe, or getting to know your child better, please indulge yourself and become aware of something other than you.

Oh, I forgot to mention...
the picture on the far right is Finn's display of my knitting. He stopped playing with his trains and decided that my display for the picture was lacking, so he spruced it up on one of his vintage chairs and told me to "take picture."

Well, we're FINALLY all better over here. After many doctor visits and a trip to Children's Hospital, my little man is in tip top shape. Thank you LORD!

Lil' C has the cutest red hair I've ever seen, and oh my his dreamy creamy skin! He giggled the craziest giggle with his little angel wings on. Lil' C decided to sleep through most of the session so we only had about twenty minutes of shooting time, but I had to share a few that I got in those sun fading minutes.

These are the first two HOLIDAY CARD designs that I'm offering this year. They are part of my "elegant" card collection. The first is a 4.5 x 5 double sided flat card and the second is a 5 x 7 double sided flat card. All colors and text is customized to your liking. Be on the lookout for my "funky retro" and "modern pop" sets!
